Frequently Asked Questions

What is OAIstore?

It is an online digital repository that provides users the opportunity to produce or see digital content with OAI-PMH.

What is OAI-PMH?

OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) is an access protocol for collecting metadata on the Internet, which develops and promotes interoperability standards. Its mission is to effectively disseminate the contents, promoting direct access to materials via the web repository for the exchange of metadata, storage and publication. It is therefore of standardization in the way people communicate in different databases of digital documents around the world.
Each tank holds your information permanently on the network, and using this protocol, a single portal or search engine locates all the information and displays it, so it is not stored or duplicated by the servers.

To whom it may concern OAIstore?

It is designed for both public and private entities and users who do not have the resources to create your own deposit or digital collection.

Why publish documents OAIstore?

OAIstore allows you to share your publications with confidence and provides a comfortable reading your documents, ensuring correct exchange with other repositories and standardization of metadata using OAI-PMH.

Do I need to register?

Registration is required to upload and share documents, add comments and other advanced options.

What types of documents can I provide?

The only requirement is to upload documents which have some historical, cultural or popular value and certain quality.

How much does it cost?

OAIstore is a free service. If you want to access advanced functions, manage and customize your own digital repository, you must have a premium account. You can change a Basic account to a premium account at any time by clicking on the "Improving your account" under the "Your Account".
